Sewer Water Repair | Twin Cities Rooter

Sewer/Water Repair

Twin Cities Rooter is proud to be a full-service plumbing and drain company. We have the knowledge, experience and state of the art equipment to take care of all your plumbing needs start to finish. This ranges from clearing a simple clogged drain to repairing or replacing underground sewer and water lines when necessary.

A plumbing drain system can best be compared to a tree with several branch lines and one trunk line. Your system consists of several individual drain lines (branch lines) that all eventually converge into one “main pipe” under the foundation of the house. From your house the main line will usually run directly to the city sewer main in the middle of the street. However, sometime the city sewer main runs between houses in the back yard or you could be on a septic system. Either way, all drain water in your house will eventually leave through one pipe and connect to the city main (or septic tank).

Sewer lines get clogged and “backup” for a variety of reasons but roots is the most common problem. Tree roots make their way through joints where two pieces of sewer pipe are connected or at a break in the pipe. The severity of the problem can be determined by how long those roots have been infiltrating the line, soil conditions, ground water, differing types of pipe and even by chemicals or grease being flushed down the line.

How do you know how sever the problem is?

Video Inspection. We have state of the art infrared video camera’s designed specifically for sewer line inspections. We highly recommend video inspecting the sewer line of any home before purchasing. This could save you thousands of dollars.

What questions can be answered in the process of a video inspection?

  • How sever is the problem?
  • Is the sewer line broken?
  • Is the problem in my yard or under the street or sidewalk?
  • Does my line run under my driveway or walkway?
  • What can I expect if I don’t fix the problem?

If the problem is in the city’s property, are they responsible?

  • No. The property owner is responsible for maintaining their own sewer system regardless of where the line is defective.

If my line needs to be repaired, how quickly can this be taken care of?

  • Twin Cities Rooter is head and shoulders above the competition in this area. We specialize in quick turn around on every type of repair whether it be sewer or water. We recognize that if an underground utility needs to be repaired it probably needs to be repaired quickly. We realize that these things aren’t usually planned for. Therefore, we have set ourselves up with the equipment and manpower to address any underground sewer or water issue as quickly as we can get the permit and schedule an inspection, usually the following day.
